Lethbridge Enmax Centre Refrigeration Plant Service
Home of the Lethbridge Hurricanes and epicenter of all things entertainment, the Enmax Centre called on our team to help them remove ammonia from the arena building, reduce the overall ammonia charge, increase capacity of the refrigeration plant by 20 percent, and provide redundancy for major equipment to reduce downtime. Known for our innovative ways, the Everyday Mavericks mapped out a plan to meet and exceed our client’s expectations.

Well known for their delicious Chinese food with a unique twist, Wing’s Fine Foods currently runs two state-of-the-art plants; one in Toronto and the other in Edmonton. With over 275 employees and a capacity to produce over 10 million units per day, Wing’s got in touch with Startec Service to partner in developing a new, environmentally friendly cold storage expansion.

Home of the Fernie Ghostriders, the Fernie Memorial Arena is a recreational ice rink located in Fernie, B.C. Sobeys Rockyview Distribution Center Service
Sobeys Inc. is Canada’s second largest food retailer with approximately 1,500 stores under retail banners that include Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Foodland and Thrifty Foods. Startec was contracted to install a new Crossdock Refrigeration system in the Sobeys newly acquired Rockyview Distribution Center. Despite a short timeline, Startec executed the project flawlessly and completed the project on time and budget.

Freson Bros Produce and Healthy Foods Store Upgrade Service
Freson Brothers is the largest family-owned independent grocery chain in Alberta. When planning a new Healthy Foods section in their Brooks store, they called Startec. The project scope included rearranging the existing produce display line up, plus the addition of one dairy case and one freezer case.

Giant Mine Modular Portable Refrigeration System Service
Located in Yellowknife NWT, Giant Mine produced about 7.6 million oz. of gold before going bankrupt and leaving behind a very large environmental problem - 237,000 tonnes of toxic arsenic trioxide dust. After years of study on how to safely remove the environmental hazard, it was concluded that the safest way to handle the potential deadly and dangerous effects of the arsenic dust was to freeze it in place — forever.

Olymel Pork Production Plant Service
Startec has played major role in the creation and operation of Western Canada's largest pork processing facility. In 2005, we led the design and construction of a major expansion project that doubled the capacity of Olymel's Red Deer pork processing plant. The facility can now process up to 18,000 hogs per day.
